Economics for Non-Economists
Why?
Do you wonder why it’s hard to convince decision makers to spend money on projects that are obviously a good idea? Are you being asked to frame advice around economic concepts you’ve never heard of, like diminishing marginal returns, cost efficiency or the value of time?
Windy City Training can help you understand and apply economic language and concepts that are used throughout the public sector. We help non-economists make sense of the jargon and craft arguments that will persuade Ministers, boards and executives who are making decisions on economic criteria.
We’ll tailor a course for agency or business unit using subject matter that you work with everyday. Our Economics for Non-Economists courses can cover topics like:
what is economics?
benefit-cost analysis
what economists measure (and what they don’t)
writing a business case
the limits of economic reasoning
common misconceptions
the budget process
