Public Sector Ethics
Why?
Do you know how to say 'no' to a minister, mayor or board? What would you do if your manager asks you not to worry about a statutory requirement?
Working in the public sector is an ethical minefield - we must navigate a complex web of legislation, employment conditions and political expectations. Windy City Training offers courses designed to help your staff have the confidence to act with integrity under pressure, even when others don't.
Windy City Training can help you to:
understand and apply your own organisation's policies or code of conduct
provide free and frank advice to decision makers
understand and manage actual or perceived conflicts of interest
keep yourself safe with good record keeping
Key learning outcomes
Staff completing the Public Sector Ethics course will:
understand their statutory obligations as public servants or local government employees
understand and be able to apply conventions around the provision of advice to elected officials
learn about and be able to apply tools and techniques to keep themselves and their organisation safe, such as record keeping
understand how to manage actual or perceived conflicts of interest, and how to respond where undeclared conflicts are identified
