Stakeholder Engagement

Why?

Have you ever offended a stakeholder to the point that they complained to your minister about you? Could you front a public meeting of angry residents?

Windy City Training can provide practical training to help you and your team engage with stakeholders in the right way, at the right time.

We’ll tailor a course for your staff to help them develop core skills and knowledge around stakeholder engagement. Our courses can cover topics like:

  • identifying your stakeholders

  • why, when and how we should engage with stakeholders

  • engaging as a Treaty partner

  • developing a stakeholder engagement plan

  • building lasting relationships

  • top 10 things not to stay to an angry stakeholder

  • fronting public meetings

Key learning outcomes

Staff completing the Stakeholder Engagement course will:

  • understand why we engage with stakeholders, and be able to make choices about how and when to engage

  • know how to identify your stakeholders and develop an engagement plan

  • understand how to engage with hapū and iwi in a way that honours Crown obligations

  • learn about how to manage face-to-face engagement, including with a hostile audience
