Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Why?
Do you know the difference between te Tiriti articles and principles? Do you understand the role of the Waitangi Tribunal and the key findings that is has made that relate to your work?
At Windy City Training, we believe that as tauiwi (non-Māori) public servants, we have a responsibility to educate ourselves about te Tiriti o Waitangi. Doing our jobs well means knowing how to act as good Treaty partners, and not just relying on our Māori colleagues to hold us to account.
Windy City Training can help you to:
understand key terms and concepts relating to te Tiriti
learn about the history and context of te Tiriti, including past and ongoing breaches of the Crown's obligations
write succinct, compelling and relevant analysis of te Tiriti implications from programmes, projects and policies
make sense of current debates about te Tiriti
